At Dudley Newman Feuerzeig LLP, we believe that being a great lawyer means being an active citizen. Our attorneys do not just practice law; they help shape the community where we live and work. We understand that true leadership extends beyond legal strategy—it is about rolling up our sleeves and serving on the front lines of local progress.
Rooted in Service
For over 40 years, DNF has maintained a long-standing tradition of leadership that spans the legal profession, the business sector as well as charitable and educational institutions in the Virgin Islands. We view our roles not just as legal counselors, but as stewards of the community’s well-being. This heritage of service is passed down from one generation of attorneys to the next, ensuring that our commitment to civic duty remains a cornerstone of our identity.
Shaping the Legal Landscape
Our attorneys are frequently called upon to lead the very institutions that govern our profession and drive our economy. This DNF tradition spans decades. Henry “Hank” Feuerzeig served as the Virgin Islands Bar President in 1976 and George H.T. Dudley served on the Board of Governors in 1976-77, and was the Secretary in 1982-83. Our attorneys have served on the Committee of Bar Examiners assisting with the admission process and grading bar examinations. (G. Hunter Logan, Committee of Bar Examiners and George H.T. Dudley, District Court of the Virgin Islands Committee of Bar Examiners, 1980-1989).
We currently have two attorneys who are recent Past Presidents of the Virgin Islands Bar Association (Charlotte Perrell, Managing Partner, V.I. Bar President, 2021 and Alisha Udhwani, V.I. Bar President, 2022) and one attorney who has served as the Treasurer for the Virgin Islands Bar Association Board of Governors (Craig O’Shea, Treasurer, 2022). Serving in these roles continues the traditions of earlier DNF attorneys, who served in these roles.
Nearly all of DNF’s attorneys have mentored young aspiring students interested in the legal profession serving as Moot Court Coaches (current DNF attorneys serving as coach/mentors include: Chad Messier, Justin Holcomb, Lisa Komives, Charlotte Perrell, Anna Vlasova, and Claire Anaclerio). Many DNF attorneys have been selected to serve on committees to interview and vet candidates for the role of Superior Court Judge and Magistrate as well as District Court Judge and Magistrate. By shaping policy and guiding professional standards, we work to create a stable and prosperous environment for our clients and peers alike.
A Commitment to Mentorship
Beyond the courtroom and the bar association, our team is deeply invested in uplifting our neighbors and educating the next generation. Our lawyers are proud to hold leadership positions across a wide array of charitable and educational institutions. Whether it is guiding the strategic vision of the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands, (George H.T. Dudley, Chairman, Hank Feuerzeig, Board Member, G. Hunter Logan, Board Member, and Kurt Petri, Board Member), serving as the President of My Brother’s Workshop (Kurt Petri), or serving on the Board of Directors of the Humane Society (Lisa Komives), we are dedicated to driving positive change in the Territory.
That commitment extends to our support of excellence in education in the Virgin Islands. Members of DNF have held long-standing positions on the Board of Trustees for Antilles School in St. Thomas (Greg Hodges, President and Charlotte Perrell, Board of Trustees, 2024-present) as well as Good Hope Country Day in St. Croix (G. Hunter Logan and Alisha Udhwani, 2023-present).
Our commitment to service keeps us grounded and connected. It gives us unique insight into the challenges and opportunities facing our neighbors and local businesses. We are personally invested in the success and vitality of our community—today and for generations to come.
